The Day in Shards

This post is named as such because of the many things that have broken today.

Let's start with the funny things that broke first. Today in lab, we were supposed to have a long lab so we needed to get started quickly and get everything done efficiently. The last thing our lab instructor said was: let's try not to break anything today. So we got the lab session off with a crash - first a "something that starts with a C" tube was broken by candace, then a separatory funnel by marcos, a beaker by shira, and a beaker by candace. amanda managed to save her beaker full of ice from the floor, though not before spilling it on herself.

After class I managed to keep something from breaking: my car. I filled it up with gas and took it in to have the oil changed and to have it washed. While waiting for it to finish, my reserve broke as I fell apart after talking to the court about my ticket - my notification still hasn't gotten here, and I may have to start my drivers safety class all over again.

Then I guess you could say my hair broke. I got it cut at the new salon in the Kohl's center, Luxe. It's just kinda a trim, but it looks better - it way needed it before I left for Dusseldorf.

Now I'm just hoping I can concentrate enough to read chapter 7 of ochem, but I'm not really giving it much hope.

A new start

Having tired of my xanga and the mediocrity and history it represents, I have chosen to start a new blog, this time on blogspot. My faithful readers - there being none at this point will first be regaled on my summer session in Germany, and then, if I remain faithful to the website, my junior year at A&M - whoop! (I will also post the more recent xanga entries so that my blog looks more well developed. Or not - its more difficult than I'd thought.)

Just to say, I guess at this point:
I have become much more of a "homemaker" as my dad says, cooking at least one thing every day - my latest efforts being chocolate covered strawberries and eclaires. I am also trying to learn German in preparation for my travels, but its not going too well. As opposed to Ochem - which is going fabulously! Although I did show my true inner self when on the first day in lab, you know the one where you don't do anything, I broke 11+ pieces of equipment while taking inventory. Now all 9 of my classmates have met the inner clumsy Robin. Our second class test is Monday, and the lab midterm is Tuesday. They should both go well.
